Japanese travellers like to take along miso soup: Survey
CHINESE travellers like to take instant noodles with them when going abroad, according to a report by Hong Kong Economic Times.
The favourite items that holidaymakers like to pack in their luggage differed greatly by nationalities. The survey was conducted by travel website Lowcost Holidays, which polled 7,500 travellers from 29 countries and regions.
Most of the items were edible, suggesting that many travellers want a taste of home wherever they go.
They include kimchi for 55 per cent of South Koreans, cheese for 53 per cent of French, coffee for 64 per cent of Italians, tea bags for 48 per cent of British, and miso soup for 56 per cent of Japanese.
Other choices were somewhat surprising. Sixty six per cent of Belgians took bath towels for scrubbing their body, 32 per cent of Americans took toilet paper and 30 per cent of Swiss travellers, their Swiss army knives.
