A green honeymoon for Kimye
KANYE West and Kim Kardashian, dubbed Kimye, have caught the world's paparazzi off-guard by choosing to secretly honeymoon in the Irish countryside, according to media reports on Monday.
Kardashian, 33, and West, 36, were married in a private ceremony in Florence, Italy, on Saturday.
Media reports suggest the couple landed at Cork airport in southern Ireland the following day and were whisked away in a fleet of limousines.
It is rumoured that rapper West and reality-TV star Kardashian will be based at a luxury rural estate in the southern Munster region.
The Castlemartyr Resort is steeped in history, and has an 18th century classic manor house, next to the ruins of an 800-year-old castle built by The Knights Templar, The Daily Mail said.
Far from the tropical weather that the couple could have enjoyed in more exotic destinations, Ireland was drenched by heavy rain showers on Monday, with temperatures reaching a maximum of 17 deg C.
They are expected to remain in Ireland until Friday, before jetting back to the United States.
