German telcos to 'launch new iPhones soon'

GERMAN telcos are said to be preparing for the launch of one of Apple's new iPhones - which has been dubbed the iPhone 6s by observers - on Sept 18.

Sources told German tech website Macerkopf that at least two of the three German telcos are planning to launch new iPhones on that date.

The latest report comes more than a week after Buzzfeed's John Paczkowski tipped that Apple would have a launch event in the week of Sept 7, with Sept 9 as the most likely date.

Both reported dates are consistent with past iPhone launches. Apple launched the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus on Sept 10 last year.

As Germany and Singapore are among the first wave of countries where new iPhones will be launched, you may have about a month to save for them.

The upcoming iPhones are believed to have an A9 processor, 2GB RAM, a new 12-megapixel rear camera and the pressure-sensitive Force Touch technology.
