Demo to ease wait for Final Fantasy XV
THE nearly 10-year wait for the hotly anticipated Final Fantasy XV action role-playing game is not quite over. But you can finally try out a demo for the game from next month.
The game - announced way back in 2006 under the name Final Fantasy Versus XIII, before a name change in 2013 - still has no release date.
But the demo for the game can be downloaded with a code that comes with the initial run of another entry in the popular game series known for its flashy presentation and gameplay, Final Fantasy Type-0 HD.
Final Fantasy Type-0 HD's English version for Sony's PlayStation 4 and Microsoft's Xbox One will be released in Singapore on March 17. The disc version goes for $79.90.
The Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae demo is a 5GB download, and will have Japanese and English voices and subtitles. It will contain part of Final Fantasy XV's opening scenario, Sony said in a media release on Wednesday.
Many fans had wondered if Final Fantasy XV would ever see the light of day, as no news emerged of a release date years after its 2006 trailer debut. There were even rumours that the game had been cancelled at one point.
Final Fantasy XV, under its old name, was initially a PlayStation 3 exclusive title.
