Soup Restaurant to open 5 more outlets

MAINBOARD-LISTED Soup Restaurant Group will roll out five more outlets in Singapore by October this year as it moves to expand its business, bringing the total number here to 19.

The five outlets include one at Changi Airport and two in Holland Village.

Wong Chi Keong, co-founder and executive director, said although the retail climate in Singapore remains challenging with high rents and labour costs, the group is confident that the expansion will position it for the future.

As the new restaurants are in new or refurbished malls with high traffic, he noted, the group has also taken the chance to introduce new concepts and dishes.

"For example, our new Soup Heritage Restaurant at Raffles Hotel, which opened in June, expanded its menu to include chilli crab and an extensive wine list to cater to local residents and tourists."
