NEW home sales in Sengkang are set to hot up, with the launch of another condominium at Fernvale later this month.

The Rivertrees Residences project by a Frasers Centrepoint-led consortium will go on sale on Feb 22, about a week after its next-door neighbour, Riverbank @ Fernvale, which has 555 units.

The 495-unit Rivertrees is in Fernvale Close and sits alongside the Sungei Punggol Reservoir.

It has about 150m of reservoir frontage. More than 90 per cent of the units would have views of the reservoir, Frasers said in a statement.

The project also includes a cluster of eight strata-titled landed duplex homes with three bedrooms, which Frasers said were the "only waterfront-landed houses in Singapore, apart from those at Sentosa Cove".

Although official prices for Rivertrees are not out yet, Frasers property chief Cheang Kok Kheong said that the project could command a premium of $50 to $100 per sq ft (psf) more than Riverbank's average selling price of slightly over $1,000 psf.

Prices for the 1,528 sq ft landed homes in the project would be "different", but will be less than $2 million, he added.

Units range from 506 sq ft one-bedders to 1,593 sq ft four-bedders.

Interested buyers are already streaming in for Riverbank next door. Riverbank's developer, UOL, said on Tuesday that it has collected more than 500 cheques.
