China firm in property tie-up in Johor
AFTER having overcome the initial misgivings about its flagship project Forest City in Johor, Country Garden Malaysia is embarking on another project in the state.
Country Garden Malaysia and Damansara Realty entered into a joint venture last week to develop a 21.4ha project in Johor Baru known as Central Park@Tampoi.
Under the joint-venture company set up between both parties, DAC Properties will be undertaking the development located about 10km north-west of Johor Baru city centre.
Country Garden Malaysia region president Jason Fu Jinling said the location of the multi-million-ringgit Central Park@Tampoi is strategic.
"Malaysia has always been a key market for us and we see a lot of potential here, particularly in Iskandar Malaysia where a slew of other major developments are coming up.
"We are targeting buyers from all over Malaysia, especially young buyers," he added.
Phase one of the project will be launched in the first quarter of next year.
The entire project is expected to be completed within the next six to eight years.
