How Xtina went from flab to fab
HER weight may have yo-yoed over the years, but singer Christina Aguilera has never given up wearing those tiny hot pants she's so well known for.
Her penchant for short shorts and tight dresses has led critics to cry "Shame!" on her every time The Voice judge takes the stage in skin-baring outfits, despite massive weight gain.
However, in The Voice's upcoming season starting Sept 23 in the United States, those critics will be keeping mum.
At an NBC event last weekend, the 32-year-old singer showed up dressed in a slinky pink number looking svelte, showing that a healthy lifestyle is the way to go if you want to lose and keep off weight.
Aguilera had already made headlines last month, when the mother of one appeared on the reality singing competition's season finale revealing a figure that showed the results of her commitment to The Fresh Diet programme.
The programme, which delivers three meals to participants daily, restricted the singer to 1,600 calories a day, a source told Us magazine.
E! online reported a source as saying that the singer is "making herself a priority, trying new exercises and trying things she loves and enjoys, rather than stuff to just 'lose weight'. This is really from the inside out".
That means doing yoga and working out in ways that felt fun for her, a source told Us magazine. The source added that the constant media attention on her body prompted her to take on the new regime.
Aguilera told reporters last Saturday that it helped to spend time away from the camera.
She said: "I...cannot live in front of a camera 24 hours a day.
"I have to take breaks and stay connected with myself, and I think it's important so that you can then be your best on-camera and find your own happiness with it."
She added: "I've been on a really incredible journey the past six months, I feel revived and renewed."
